پڑھ پڑھ عالم فاضل ہویا
کدے اپنڑے آپ نوں پڑھیا نہیں
جا جا وَڑدا مسجداں مندراں اندر
کدی اپنڑے اندر توں وَڑیا ای نہیں ۔
ایویں روز شیطان نال لڑدا ایں
کدی نفس اپنڑے نال توں لڑیا ای نہیں
بُلھے شاہ اسمانی اُڈدیاں پھَڑدا ایں
جہڑا کہر بیٹھا اونوں پھڑیا ای نہیں
کدے اپنڑے آپ نوں پڑھیا نہیں

And read a thousand books.
Have you ever read your Self?
You have gone to mosque and temple.
Have you ever visited your soul?
You are busy fighting Satan.
Have you ever fought your
Ill intentions?
You have reached into the skies,
But you have failed to reach

have you ever read yourself what a great question yaar…jo hm insaanu se to bully shah ne bohat pehly poocha tha mgr hm mai sy bohat km logon ko yaad hai or ye ap jese log hi hain jo hmy hmare hi boole hoe soofi logon ki yaad dila dete hain….excellent work yaar…..mai pr kr shock reh gai…and for translation in english thanks………..god bless you….

dis is wt iqbal wants to convey to us through his poetry, wants us to identify our ‘khudi’………. according to him, jis insaan ne apni khudi ko pahchaan lea, uss ne apni zindagee ka maqsad paa lea
