Happy Independence Day, dear Pakistanis!
62 years, my friends…
62 years I see full of ambition, passion, struggle and hard work…at least on the part of those people who actually represent the people of “The Land of the Pure“. 62 years full of perseverance so vigorous that inshaAllah no force on Earth may break it…Alhamdulillah!

Things have changed so so very much during these years, and unfortunately many that should have, have not changed one bit. But one thing always gives me hope…that there is NO nation that can match us in the world.
The country is full of intelligent youth, bursting with ambition and talent, in want of nothing but opportunity. My friends, your opportunity will come inshaAllah. If not, we shall create our opportunities for ourselves! There is no equal to the valor and bravery of the inhabitants of this land…such we have already proven in both war and in peace. There is no parallel to the sense of philanthropy and respect for life that we Pakistanis have…this we have proven not too long ago in the 2005 earthquake and in the recent mass displacement of over 2 million inhabitants of Swat, one of the world’s largest displacements in history.
All this and much more is what gives me hope…hope that we are not lost in our cause and goals…just perhaps a bit sidelined. All we need is direction and leadership. This is perhaps where we have not been so lucky. We have seen so many leaders coming into power one by one and then falling as well, one by one. So my dear friends, today, join me in prayer that may Allah shower His blessings on this nation and give us the understanding and hidaayat to pursue our Quaid’s principles and goals, to make this county a stronghold of Islam and a responsible nation of the world. May He give us a leader whom we have blind faith in and who has the foresight and vision to take this nation to the height where it belongs. Aameen!
I would not want to say much about our leaders of today. But I do want to share with you a video of perhaps the only person in our history who deserved to lead this nation. Captured on 15th December, 1971, in a meeting of theUnited Nations Security Council, when all were against Pakistan and its stance on East Pakistan, President Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto made it clear to the world that we are not a nation to become obliterated that easily.
All I hope is that we all keep the Pakistani spirit alive in our hearts for it has certainly been what has kept this country alive.
Pakistan Zindabad!

So very true! We have been on the verge of collapsing so many times but alhumdulillah we pulled through it, the Swat crisis being the most recent example. I am thankful to Allah that despite hard times He never let our hopes die. And I hope and pray that we may see a much brighter future inshaAllah.:)
