Assalamoalaikum,

I guess this is right. I find that the pushtu that I speak as an oldest child not even my younger siblings speak, moreover Im the only one who can actually read pushto among my own siblings let alone my own kids and cousins etc. I found that even pushto is disappearing, no one bothres to read Rahman Baba or other great classical writers/poets. an integral part of our language. I think Urdu is not a language which could be called a chotee qabaily zabaan, but pushto is. There is a massive threat t it. On top of that nationalism makes people learn urdu or ix it with urdu and alot of people dont botehr learning it. That way a whole culture has changed in the last 12 years infront of my own eyes. I think that pushto can peacefully co exist with Urdu. I mean we can learn both languages, then why forget pushto, it is rather sad.

I am sorry it was a long article to read I could only manage to read first half, but InshaAllah i will read further soon :)

Great work Faiza!
